I tried to open the file and nothing has happened that indicates an update went through. Also, I tried to run those commands in order. The first went through without issue, but the second did not start anything. Also, now when I go to check my computer for updates, it tells me that an error occurred. Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.
I downloaded the file as instructed from there, but again, double-clicking the file in my downloads folder doesn't do anything. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the file?
There's no indication that it's updating Windows Defender at all. I recommend you repair Windows completely before you should make a copy of your files. I was under the impression that this would just be an update file, but if I need to reinstall it completely then I may have misunderstood your initial reply. You can use the System File Checker tool to repair damaged system files. At the end, you must restart the PC. You didn't answer my question from my last reply.
In response to your previous question, I recommend you repair Windows completely. How do I go about doing that? I've never had to repair Windows in the past. This site in other languages x.
